The story of Neuro Vihar began with a vision seeded in 2011 — a vision to bring global expertise in neurology and rehabilitation to India, and to transform the way neuro care is delivered in the region.
Driven by this purpose, Dr. Gunjan Kumar pursued his DM in Neurology from the prestigious NIMHANS, Bangalore, and later returned to Patna to establish the Department of Neurology at AIIMS Patna.
Parallelly, Dr. Darshpreet Kaur became the first Indian physiotherapist in 2011 to receive the prestigious Du Pré Grant from the Multiple Sclerosis International Federation (MSIF), enabling her to train in cognitive rehabilitation for MS at Bordeaux, France.
Their mutual passion for research, innovation, and global collaboration took them across the world — presenting their work in India,Vietnam, Seoul, Denmark, Lyon, Australia and more.
Dr. Gunjan became the first Indian Neurologist to receive a fellowship from the International Headache Society, training in Ireland for advanced headache management, while Dr. Darshpreet pioneered vestibular rehabilitation in the region, becoming its first certified vestibular therapist.
Their collective dream of reshaping neurorehabilitation led to the founding of Neuro Vihar — Bihar’s and Eastern India’s first digitally advanced neuro care centre, launched in 2025. Prior to this, the duo co-founded Chakker Clinic, and later introduced landmark inpatient neuro-rehabilitation services with a dedicated focus on Pilates-based rehabilitation at Jeevandan Health Multi-Speciality Hospital.
Neuro Vihar is more than a centre — it's a movement powered by passion, evidence-based care, and global experience, aiming to bring world-class neuro services to the heart of Bihar and Pan India.
